In the beginning, there was light
A spark ignited, a fire burned bright (oh, yeah)
But shadows creeped in, darkness took hold
And what we thought was real, began to unfold

This is the genesis, the birth of our descent
From the ashes it rises, the beginning of the end
We can’t escape, we can’t pretend
This is the genesis, the turning point, my friend
